PharmGKB summaries getting some traction

For the past year, the journal Pharmacogenetics & Genomics (PG&G) has been publishing PharmGKB Pathway summaries and compressed versions of PharmGKB Very Important Pharmacogene (VIP) summaries. When we set up this continuing arrangement, we weren’t sure if the journal readers would value this feature, and so it was experimental. However, it appears that the pathway and VIP summaries have been very popular. For example, these publications are currently topping the charts at PG&G; as of May 13, the top 6/6 most viewed articles were VIP and Pathway minireviews from PharmGKB, with the ABCB1 VIP being #1 and the VKORC1 VIP being #2. We are pleased that our that the community is finding these summaries useful, and that they are contributing to the growing interest in pharmacogenomics. Congratulations are also due to our PGRN co-authors, who in many cases provide the deep expertise and perspective in these short reviews! (Written with PharmGKB curator, Joan Hebert).
